PIL seeking inquiry into death of beggars

The petitioner A V Amaranathan has stated that the preliminary report into the deaths indicate epidemic outbreak and the government has ignored the pathetic condition of inmates at the Centre.

The Maharaja of Mysore had gifted 300 acres of land at Sumanahalli for Beggars Colony of which 180 acres has has already been encroached, the petition said. He has also sought directions to provide immediate medical facilities to the inmates as an interim relief. The petition is likely to be listed for hearing next week.
