The profession should not be projected in dim light because of malfeasance on the part of few engineers,” he said.<br /><br />He said the civil engineering which was the most sought after profession during his time, was eclipsed for a long time as the young generation had rated the profession very low. <br /><br />However, the trend is slowing changing and many young students are choosing civil engineering as their career. <br /><br />Mahendra Raj Consultants has been struggling very hard to get the Engineers’ Bill passed which is still pending with the ministry, he said. <br /><br />Ajit Sabnis, Chairman of the silver jubilee committee said that there is a need for 70,000 civil engineers. However, at present hardly 30,000 engineers are graduating every year.<br /></p>
