He suggested the Government to strengthen infrastructure in premier law institutes like National Law School of India University.

“There are close to 14,000 members in the Advocates’ Association and the State should take initiatives to update their knowledge,” he told a gathering of lawyers at an orientation programme here on Monday.

He urged young lawyers to be patient and responsible, as they play an important role in a democracy. Close to 400 practitioners of law attended the event that was held at the City Civil Court building.

The new Chief Justice of Karnataka, Jagadish Singh Khehar, made his first public appearance at the event.
