Lock&Lock to expand export market

The company, founded in 1978, has occupied the number one position in the market of airtight food containers in China and South Korea. It exports its products to 108 countries in the globe. The company manufactures about 250 million containers annually in its four factory units, including two in China and one in Vietnam.

Briefing reporters, Chairman & CEO Kim Joon-il said the company, which, enjoys 60 per cent market share in Korea, recorded a growth of 157 per cent in China in the last five years. The company could grow fast in a span of few years delivering quality goods to customers.

Airtight containers locks on all four sides and the stuff inside remains fresh for longer duration, said Assistant Manager Communication Jack Kwon. He said the stuff inside Lock&Lock containers do not get contact with water, even if the container is dropped in a water body.

The company, which entered India in 2002, in the year 2009-10 registered business turnover of US$2.7 million and has set a target to reach revenue of $ 5 million in 2010-11. It will introduced special containers for roti and masala in India shortly.

Lock&Lock, which began operations manufacturing plastic containers, now has products in ceramic and glass as well. These containers can be used in microwave to heat the food stuff.
