Many eyeing KPCC chief post

The meeting is expected to adopt a one-line resolution to leave the appointment of KPCC president to the discretion of the party high command. However, a section of MLAs and KPCC members are expected to raise their voice in favour of election to the post instead of nomination.

Many leaders including Shamanur Shivashankarappa, G Parameshwara, H K Patil, B K Hariprasad, Ramalinga Reddy are eyeing for the post. Leaders of Lingayat community and Scheduled Castes held separate meetings to pressure the party high command to favour leaders from their communities.

The party had released the calendar of events for the election. Election to the president’s post is scheduled to be held on September 21.
