Scam-tainted Gowda to be reinstated

 He has shown the doors to Ramachandra Gowda who is caught in the job scam of government medical colleges. At the same time, he has announced that Gowda will be given a ‘suitable position’ soon.

On his return from China on Friday Yeddyurappa forwarded the resignation of Gowda as medical education minister to the Governor.

The Governor has accepted the resignation. Home Minister V S Acharya is vested with additional portfolio of medical education. There are rumours that Gowda may become chairman of the State Planning Board. The post is vacant after D H Shankarmurthy became the chairman of the Legislative Council.

Asked whether he would order an inquiry into alleged irregularities in recruitment of staff in medical colleges other than Hassan and Mysore too, Yeddyurappa ducked the question. But, he said he would take action only after the curt verdict on the Mysore and Hassan medical colleges.
