Addressing a press meet here on Sunday, he said if the authorities fail to hand over the incident for judicial probe, then the Committee will file a PIL in the High Court.

“Owing to spurious drugs, three persons lost their lives. There is a big network behind the spurious drugs. The government and the elected representatives should be held responsible for it. Zilla Panchayat Standing Committee on Health President and all the elected representatives should tender resignation,” he demanded and added that the compensation announced by the state government is meagre as no one can value for a lost life.

The government should bring to light the details such as where the medicine was manufactured, thereby trying to avoid such incidents in other districts and other states, he said.  Nanjarayapattana Gram Panchayat member Ravi Kumar said the administrative machinery of the district has collapsed completely. Several scams have taken place after BJP came to power in the state. Criminal case should be booked against those who were responsible for the death of poor patients.
