Indian-origin students on Know India tour meet Ravi

The group is visiting India as part Know India Programme (KIP) sponsored by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs. The Minister, welcoming the diaspora students, said the Ministry had formulated the the KIP for diaspora youth with a view to connect them with their roots and make them aware about the progress made by the country in various fields.

Ravi said the programme provides a unique forum for students and young professionals of Indian origin to visit the country, share their views and to bond closely with contemporary India.

On this occasion, A Didar Singh, Secretary, MOIA also addressed the participants and highlighted the role of the Ministry in linking 'youth diaspora' with their origin country.
The group already visited Assam and Meghalaya from September 9 to 19. In Assam, they visited various places including tea gardens in Dibrugarh, Digboi, Jorhat and Sivasagar.
