“It is under consideration and the department is yet to draft a proposal. We will consult with our Minister and a final decision has to be taken by the Cabinet,” Transport Commissioner Bhaskar Rao told Deccan Herald on Friday.
The idea was also aimed to check the menace of touts and reach services directly to people, but many problems including staff shortage have to solved before the idea can become reality, Rao said. A senior officer said the RTO here had about 100 - 150 applicants seeking licences and other services daily.
