A police constable was killed after a speeding lorry hit his motorcycle in Kirimanjeshwara on NH 66 in the early hours on Thursday.
According to police the cop was identified as Nagesh Billava.
The truck driver had suddenly stopped the truck and in the process had knocked Billava’s motorbike from behind. The cop was rushed to a hospital but declared dead on arrival by doctors present in the hospital.
He was attached to Byndoor police station and was assigned night duty, sources told DH. A case was registered in Byndoor police station.
