With seven candidates withdrawing their nominations, 17 candidates are in the fray in two constituencies in Kodagu.
In Madikeri, 13 candidates had filed their nominations, of which two withdrew their nominations. Those who are in fray are—Appacchu Ranjan (BJP); K P Chandrakala (Congress); Jeevijaya (JDS); Bhargava (ABHMS); Rasheeda Begum (MEP); K B Raju (Indian Republic Party); and Kishan, Kaleel, B M Thimmaiah, M Mohammed Haneef and P S Yadoorappa (Independent candidates). Napanda Muthappa and Hemanth Kumar have withdrawn their nominations.
In Virajpet, of the 11 candidates, five have withdrawn their nominations. Those who are in the fray are C S Arun Machaiah (Congress), K G Bopaiah (BJP), Sanketh Poovaiah (JDS), H D Basavarahu (MEP), H D Doddayya and M K Nanjappa (Independent candidate). Those who withdrew nominations are Appachanda Giri Uthappa, M Padmini Ponnappa, M K Faizal, P S Mutha and K E Harish Bopanna.
