<p class="title">A bus driver was conned out of Rs 7 lakh by a fraudster who promised him a job in the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).</p>.<p class="bodytext">L Govindaraj, of Sadashivanagar, said he had met a man named Hamza while driving a bus between Hassan and Bengaluru.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Hamza bragged about his "high-level contacts" in the BMRCL and said he could get him a job for a commission. Govindaraj later paid him Rs 5.5 lakh as the first instalment of the fee.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He paid another Rs 1.5 lakh but there was no sign of the job. </p>.<p class="bodytext">When Govindaraj confronted him, Hamza denied having taken money from <br />him and went incommunicado.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The bus driver then filed a complaint at the Sadashivanagar police station.</p>.<p class="byline">DH News Service</p>
