Mollywood legend Mammootty took to Twitter on Sunday to share the first look poster of his upcoming film Bheeshma Parvam much to the delight of his die-hard fans. With 'Megastar' mania set to grip M-town, here is a look at four things one needs to know about the much-talked-about project.

A bankable combo

Bheeshma Parvam has created a fair deal of buzz among movie buffs as it reunites Mammootty with top filmmaker Amal Neerad. The two previously collaborated for the mass movie Big B, which emerged as a big hit at the box office while attaining cult status. The buzz is that their latest movie has enough masala to pack a punch.

Mammootty on a roll

Mammootty, who has been a part of Mollywood for nearly four decades, is apparently making a conscious effort to redefine his reel image. The star received rave reviews for his performance in Uncle, which revolved around the bond between a young girl and her father's friend. Last year, he tasted success with the actioner Shylock. Bheeshma Parvam may help him add a new dimension to his career. The poster suggests that he essays the role of a mass leader or a bigwig in the film.

Good cast

Bheeshma Parvam has a stellar supporting cast that includes Soubin Shahir and actor Lena. Soubin, who became the talk of the town with his performance in the well-received movie Sudani from Nigeria, is widely regarded as one of the most promising young actors in Mollywood. Many feel he might be able to add a new layer to the magnum opus if he gets good scenes with Mammootty. There have also been talks of Kappela and Trance actor Sreenath Bhasi joining the cast of Bheeshma Parvam. This, however, is yet to be confirmed.

A 'replacement' for Bilal

Mammootty and Amal Neerad were originally supposed to collaborate for the eagerly-awaited movie Bilal, a sequel to Big B. The film, however, was put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic as several scenes were to be shot abroad. The two subsequently teamed up for Bheeshma Parvam. Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph too made a similar decision when they came together from Drishyam 2, putting their movie Ram on the backburner.
