Noted director Jeethu Joseph says that he is ready to make a sequel to the recently-released movie Drishyam 2. He has already discussed the matter with actor Mohanlal and producer Antony Antony Perumbavoor. He added that the proposed project will have a 'magnificent' climax while clarifying that the film will not be going on the floors in the near future.

"The shooting of Drishyam 3 will not happen soon. It will take at least three years from now for the film to go on floors," he added while interacting with the media.

Drishyam hit the screens in 2013 and emerged as a big hit at the box office. The thriller featured 'Lalettan' in the role of a simpleton who tries to protect his family from grave danger. The film was remade in numerous languages , emerging as a pan-India brand. Its sequel went on the floors last year with the team following social distancing protocols to ensure everyone's safety amid the Covid-19 pandemic. It was released digitally on February 19, skipping the theatrical route.

The sequel received rave reviews with most critics praising Mohanlal's performance and the climax. A section of the audience, however, felt that the opening hour was not as gripping as expected. It remains to be seen whether Drishyam 3 lives up to the standards set by the first two parts.

Mohanlal, meanwhile, is awaiting the release of the Malayalam movie Aaraattu. The film is touted to be an action-comedy and features Shraddha Srinath as the leading lady. It is slated to hit the screens in August. He also has the magnum opus Marakkar in his kitty. It has a stellar cast that includes Suniel Shetty, Arjun Sarja, Manju Warrier and Kalyani Priyadarshan.

Jeethu, on the other hand, is set to team up with actor Venkatesh for the Telugu remake of Drishyam 2. There have also been talks of him directing the Tamil and Hindi remakes of the movie.
