Is Kajol being considered for a key role in Prabhas-starrer 'Adipurush'?

Bollywood star Kajol is reportedly being considered for a key role in the Om Raut-directed movie Adipurush, featuring actor Prabhas in the lead role. If things fall in place, this will be the Dilwale star's second collaboration with the filmmaker as the two had previously collaborated for the 2020 blockbuster Tanhaji. One is likely to get clarity on powerhouse perforrmer's association with the film in the coming days.

Adipurush is an adaptation of the Ramayana and revolves around the 'victory of good over evil'. Prabhas plays lord Ram while Saif Ali Khan essays the role of the antagonist 'Lankesh'. Bollywood star Kriti Sanon was recently roped in to play the Sita in the Hindi-Telugu bilingual, which marks her first collaboration with 'Darling'. Sunny Singh, who impressed fans with his work in Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, too is a part of the star-studded cast. Adipurush is being shot on an impressive budget and will feature extensive VFX.

The movie landed in a controversy a while ago when Saif said that it would show the 'humane side' of Ravan. The Omkara actor eventually apologised for his comments and issued a clarification.. The biggie is expected to hit the screens next year.

Prabhas, meanwhile, is awaiting the release of the romantic drama Radhe Shyam that marks his first collaboration with Pooja Hegde. It is slated to hit the screens this July. He will also be seen in the Prashanth Neel-helmed Salaar and the fantasy drama Prabhas 21, which features Deepika Padukone as the leading lady.

Kajol, on the other hand was last seen in the Netflix film Tribhanga . It revolved around the journey of a dysfunctional family and hit the right notes with its effective presentation. The cast included Tanvi Azmi, Manav Govil and Mithila Palkar. There have been talks of her doing a biopic in the near future but this is yet to be confirmed.
