The SteelTech Cort Solution Private Limited has launched ‘Nowaste,’ a fuel free solid waste disposal system, in Mangaluru.

The City Centre shopping mall is the first centre in the city to adopt the Nowaste method.

Addressing media persons here, on Friday, SteelTech Director-Marketing K V Padmanabhan said that the introduction of ‘No fuel’ solid waste disposal units aims at making the environment free from waste and pollution and also at supporting the Swacch Bharat Mission.

“The Nowaste method is an eco-friendly function which burns waste into fine ash in short time without any fuel or external energy.”

The experiment has been a huge success throughout Kerala and the no fuel unit has more than 1,500 installations, which include railway stations, airports, hospitals, municipal corporations, convention centres, temples, auditorium, marriage halls and super specialty hospitals, he said.

“The ‘Nowaste’ unit runs without any fuel and the cost of installation is minimum. It is portable and can be installed on roof-tops making it very reliable and less expensive,” he said.

Padmanabhan, further, said that it also ensures complete combustion of waste and was highly useful everywhere. The Nowaste is implemented commercially for municipal waste management as well as for small-scale waste management. Waste accumulated in industries, auditorium, educational institutions, hospitals and health centres, super markets and residential apartments can be disposed without pollution through the Nowaste method.
