The dates of the CBSE examinations would be announced on December 31, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said on Saturday.

Nishank took to Twitter to state that he would announce the CBSE exam schedule on December 31 at 6:00 p.m.

Earlier, the minister had said that the CBSE examinations for Class 10 & 12 will be held after February next year.

Usually, practical examinations for Class 10 & 12 are conducted in January and February and the theory examinations are held in February-March.

“Based on the present conditions, holding the examination in January or February is not possible. That has been decided. We will hold consultations after this and make a decision,” the minister had said on Tuesday during a virtual interaction with teachers.

He had noted that the practical examinations for Class 10 and 12 are conducted by the respective schools and colleges.

Schools across the country were closed in March to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Schools partially reopened in some states from October 15, but few states have decided to keep them closed in view of a spike in the number of infections.
