A student of graduation died after being thrown out of a moving auto rickshaw after she resisted rape bid by the driver and an accomplice of his in the state capital.
According to the police sources here, the girl, who also worked part time at a company, boarded an auto rickshaw on Friday night to go home. Sources said that the driver and an accomplice of his allegedly tried to rape the girl.
The girl resisted and shouted for help. The mother of the girl, who waiting for her at the auto stoppage, also shouted for help, when the auto did not stop and sped by.
As the locals gave a chase, the driver threw the girl out of the moving auto and sped away. The girl was rushed to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, the police said. One person has been arrested in this connection, police added.
