<p>Bengaluru: Day one of the <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/kcet">Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2025</a> was held smoothly on Wednesday with 94.20 per cent attendance of the registered candidates.</p>.<p>The test is being held for admission to engineering and other professional courses in the state.</p>.<p>The test was conducted at 775 centres across the state with 3,11,777 candidates appearing for the test. </p>.<p>The students appeared for the Physics and Chemistry papers. They felt the Chemistry paper was easy and the Physics paper a bit tough. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The test was conducted under strict camera surveillance. "For the first time, a QR code-based facial recognition system was successfully implemented to verify candidates’ authenticity. Minor technical glitches were reported at some centres during the morning session and they were resolved on the spot," said Executive Director of the Karnataka Examinations Authority Prasanna. </p>.II PUC: Exam 2 sees high enrolment.<p class="bodytext">More than 30 students who arrived at the exam centers without hall tickets and the KEA staff helped them to download the admission ticket and attend the test. </p>.<p class="bodytext">“Some students faced issues like insufficient mobile balance or blocked numbers, preventing them from downloading hall tickets using OTP. Our staff swiftly sent hall tickets via WhatsApp, working intensively until 10:29 AM to ensure no candidate was left out," Prasanna added. </p>.<p class="bodytext">The test for Mathematics (morning) and Biology (afternoon) will be held today. </p>
