<p>Belagavi: The <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/india/karnataka">Karnataka</a> Cabinet on Friday is said to have decided to revamp the scam-hit Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) on the lines of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA).</p><p>The Mysuru Development Authority Bill was cleared by the Cabinet, sources said.</p><p>The new planning agency will not have lawmakers on its board, sources said.</p>.MUDA Scam: Treat ED respectfully, says BS Yediyurappa to CM Siddaramaiah.<p>At present, MLAs from Mysuru get to sit on the MUDA board.</p><p>One minister, who did not want to be identified, said the “root cause” of MUDA’s problems was interference by MLAs.</p><p>The Cabinet decision is significant as it comes at a time when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing a court-ordered investigation for alleged Irregularities in the allotment of MUDA plots to his wife Parvathi.</p>.<p>In another decision, the Cabinet is said to have cleared amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure, which includes holding daily hearings in view of over nine lakh civil disputes pending.</p><p>The much-touted Karnataka Platform-based Gig Workers (Social Security and Welfare) Bill was deferred again. Apparently, the Congress government wants to obtain the views of the party’s top brass before going ahead.</p><p>It is learnt that the Cabinet discussed a new policy for water transport development. Also, revised cost estimates of ₹471 crore under the union government’s Sagarmala project.</p>
