<p>Mysuru: Air Kerala is likely to operate an ATR 72-seater flight from <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/mysuru-airport">Mysuru Airport</a> to Kochi Airport from May. </p><p>Officials of Airport Authority of India-Mysuru, led by Mysore-Kodagu MP <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/yaduveer-krishnadatta-chamaraja-wadiyar">Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar</a>, held a meeting with officials of Air Kerala regarding the strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing tourism, aviation and business prospects in the region.</p><p>Mysuru Airport Director J R Anoop informed that Air Kerala assured of progressively expanding its operations from Mysuru, introducing flights on potential routes. </p><p>In a move to bolster local talent and aviation infrastructure, Air Kerala plans to collaborate with relevant firms to establish an aviation academy in Mysuru. </p><p>The academy will initially feature a state-of-the-art ATR 72-600 simulator, providing world-class training for aspiring aviation professionals.</p>.Air India Express flight take-off aborted in Kerala due to smoke.<p>During the meeting, Afi Ahmed, Chairman of Air Kerala, said, "This collaboration underscores our commitment to enhance regional connectivity and promoting Mysuru’s rich cultural heritage on a global scale. Together, we aim to make a significant impact in aviation and tourism."</p><p>MP Yaduveer said, "This partnership provides significant opportunity to bring transformative change to the region. By working together, we can leverage Mysuru’s strengths and create new avenues for economic and cultural exchange."</p><p>"I am also working closely with other aviation companies through the Ministry of Civil Aviation, to have more flights to different cities from Mysuru, while focusing on the remaining works of the airport. I will soon be meeting the CM regarding the airport expansion work," Yaduveer said. </p><p>MLA G T Devegowda, Air Kerala, Vice Chairman, Ayub Kallada, CEO, Harish Kutty, Head of Ground Operations, Shamon Pattavathukal, Mysuru Airport director J R Anoop, staff of Mysuru Airport, representatives of CII, stakeholders of hotel, tourism and travel industries were also present in the meeting.</p>
