Bengaluru: Construction worker dies after plank collapses

Bengaluru: A construction worker died when carrying out repair works at a four-storey building in Mahadevapura, east Bengaluru, on Thursday, officials said. 

Yusuf Shariff (35), from Haveri, sustained grievous injuries after the plank on which he stood collapsed. He died shortly afterwards, while three of his colleagues — Tanuja, Akash and an unidentified person — sustained injuries. They are being treated at a hospital. 

Police sources said a case of causing death by negligence would likely be filed over allegations of lax safety measures at the building site.
