<p>Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services (KSFES) Department has given Kendriya Vihar apartment authorities in Yelahanka a month’s time to clear illegal constructions in the driveway and obtain a Clearance Certificate.</p>.<p>In a letter dated May 12, 2025, the KSFES wrote to Bescom, directing it to cut electricity to a specific block of the Kendriya Vihar apartments, citing non-renewal of the Clearance Certificate (CC).</p>.BBMP chief orders removal of illegal OFCs .<p>A well-placed source in the KSFES told DH that setbacks had been constructed in the driveway. “Hence, we refused to renew the Clearance Certificate and asked Bescom to disconnect the electricity supply,” the officer said.</p>.<p>As per the National Building Code, high-rise buildings must obtain a CC from the fire department and renew it every two years.</p>.<p>The official added that after the notice, apartment representatives sought more time, citing the presence of several senior citizens. “We have given them one month to clear the setbacks,” the officer said.</p>
