Speaking after inducting a few workers of the BJP and the Congress into his party in Bangalore, Kumaraswamy said the ruling BJP  did not want elections to be held for the Palike as it lacked the confidence to face the electorate. Hence it was making efforts to postpone the elections, he said.

Kumaraswamy said the JD(S) was strong enough to face the elections and come to power in BBMP without going in for an alliance with any party.

Resort culture

Kumaraswamy criticised the reported efforts of the BJP to win in the Council elections by confining the voters at a resort in Dharwad. He said his party would raise the issue in the legislature during session beginning on Monday.
