BJP takes stock at legislature party meet

Party sources said the legislators were told at the meeting to stay united and were assured that the crisis gripping the party would be defused.

Chief Minister Yeddyurappa told his legislators that he was confident of proving his majority. The legislators were told not to succumb to any amount of wooing by opposition parties.

Earlier, talking to reporters,  BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, who arrived in Bangalore from New Delhi said the grievances of the rebel MLAs are being looked into and the party was directly talking to the dissidents to resolve the issue.

He warned those MLAs who have given the letter to the Governor for withdrawal of support that they had won elections on BJP symbol and can could lose their membership of the assembly under anti-defection law.
