D K Shivakumar should resign, says Lakhan Jarkiholi

Lakhan Jarkiholi, who contested the by-election from Gokak Assembly constituency as a Congress candidate against former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, on Thursday demanded that KPCC president D K Shivakumar should quit his post and cooperate for the investigation into the alleged CD scandal as his name has been mentioned by the parents of the woman allegedly involved in the case.

He told reporters at Gokak that the party high command should get the resignation of Jarkiholi. All should know who was the producer and director of the CD case, he said.

Lakhan said Jarkiholi was trapped in the case by those who were unable to digest his growth as he was getting fame with his good works as water resources minister. "Ramesh Jarkiholi is innocent and he will come out of the scandal unscathed," he predicted.

Without naming Congress candidate for Belgaum Lok Sabha Constituency Satish Jarkiholi, Lakhan said the candidate should be cautious before sharing dais with his party leaders as no one knows what could happen and with whom.

'Allow us meet our daughter'

Meanwhile, the parents of the woman said in Vijayapura that they should be given an opportunity to speak to their daughter. "If the SIT gives us a chance, we are ready to go to Bengaluru and meet our daughter," they said.

They told media men that they are no one's pressure and added that Shivakumar is responsible for the incident.
