According to the police, Riyaz Mokashi (26), Anees Mokashi (24) and Moiz Mokashi (22) residents of Pant Balekundri from Belgaum taluk and Feroz Devadi (20) resident of Gokak had come to Nandgad to attend a function at their relative's house.
All the four went for swimming in the lake. While swimming Riyaz drowned in an attempt to rescue him Anees, Moiz and Feroz also drowned. Their bodies were fished out later.
