Various government establishments including schools are in a dilapidated condition in Napoklu hobli.

The buildings have not been maintained for years and are in desperate need of a facelift.

The roof and walls of a building on the premises of Government Model Primary School near Napoklu have already collapsed.

Even though the primary school has completed 100 years, the department concerned has not taken any measure to repair the building, said local resident Kulletira Arun Beba.

The classrooms in the high school section of Government PU College in Napoklu are also in a deplorable condition.

The quarters built for the principal of the PU college looks like a haunted mansion and nobody stays in it now.

Earlier, the PU classes were held in the high school building. Later, a new building was constructed for PU students by the PWD, at a cost of Rs 45 lakh. However, the classes could not be held in the new building for several months only due to lack of facilities.

The condition of government first grade college buildings is no better. Even though new buildings have been built in 2008, they are lacking basic amenities such as drinking water, electricity and toilet.

Miscreants have damaged the window panes of the building by pelting stones.

The residents have urged for the appointment of a permanent principal for Karnataka Public School in Napoklu. Currently, the principal of Government PU College is in charge of the public school.
