<p class="bodytext">Water sports will be conducted at Janivara Lake, in the taluk, as part of the Bahubali Mahamastakabhisheka, said MLA C N Balakrishna.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to reporters, after inspecting the works under progress, here, on Tuesday, Balakrishna said, the Tourism department has released Rs 50 lakh for conducting water sports, during the festival.</p>.<p class="bodytext">"Besides, the funds sanctioned for Mahamastakabhisheka has also been used. About 75% of works have been completed. Nirmiti Kendra has taken up the works on a war footing. Water sports are expected to attract tourists visiting Shravanabelagola, to be a part of the festival," he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">The Cauvery Neeravari Nigama has sanctioned Rs 2 crore to take up the works to ensure that water flows freely into the lake to facilitate water sports.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Parking arrangements will be made at the spot for the benefit of tourists. A two-lane road should be laid on Janivara Lake to enable free movement of vehicles, he felt.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Town Municipal Council former president C N Shashidhar was present.</p>
