No unilateral decision on English medium

Speaking to reporters, he said the government will not take unilateral decision in this regard. The final decision of the government will be based on the opinion of all sections of society, he added.

The government has been committed to its stand on the medium of instruction policy of compulsory learning in Kannda language up to class IV. The government will not change its stand at any cost on the issue, he added.

The Karnataka High Court has already ruled that medium of instruction is the prerogative of parents and cannot be imposed by the State government. The government has challenged the High Court order in the Supreme Court.
