Pejawar seer to miss Shishya Sweekara ceremony

The successor to Puttige Mutt, one of the Udupi Ashta Mutt will be appointed on Monday. However, there is doubt over the participation of Ashta Mutt seers in the ceremony, said sources close to the Mutt.

Pejawar seer Vishwesha Theertha Swami will not take part in the ceremony. A close aide of Pejawar seer said; "the seer did not get any invitation to take part in the ceremony. As Pejwar seer is pre occupied with other designated programmes, he will not take part in shishya sweekara ceremony."

Puttige seer Sri Sugunendratheertha Sripada said "Puttige Mutt's dwandwa Mutt Krishnapura Mutt seer will take part in the ceremony and refused to comment on other seers participating in the event."

There was controversy after Puttige seer violated the code to spread "dhrama" in foreign countries. Today Puttige Mutt has many branches in foreign countries.
