Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday directed the Water Resources department to prepare an action plan for reviving the Command Area Development Authority (CADA), the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) and the Karnataka Engineering Research Station (KERS).

Water Resources Minister M B Patil told reporters that the action plan will be prepared based on recommendations of the study report compiled by the department. Two teams of department officials recently visited Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, where CADA and WALMI are functioning effectively.

Speaking to reporters after submitting the department’s study report to the Chief Minister at his home office, he said that the department has made about 40 recommendations for reviving these agencies.
