By revealing intelligence inputs on IT raids, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has neglected the constitutional post he holds. He should tender resignation immediately, said BJP State General Secretary and Chikkamagaluru MLA C T Ravi.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, he said, “Kumaraswamy has taken an oath to protect office secrecy. The revelation of the details has affected the secrecy oath. He has attempted to bury corruption by revealing information on the raid to the corrupt.”

He said IT raids were carried over suspicion of mobilization of advance to the tune of crores of rupees and using the money for election illegally. It is a tragedy that JD(S)-Congress took to streets over the IT raids, thereby showing close affinity with the corrupt.

Ravi said, “The loan of the state has gone up to Rs 3 lakh crore. The treasury of the state should not be looted to fill your treasury.”

He went on to accuse the chief minister of working as a kingpin of corruption.

He demanded a thorough investigation into contract work, mobilisation of advance, and other issues.

He said the Election Commission should file a suo motu case for holding a protest without seeking permission.
