<p>The police arrested two in connection with vandalisation of idols at Bangarappa Layout near Ragigudda in the city. </p><p>Tension prevailed in the locality after the local residents found out that idols of Serpent god and Ganapathi were found removed and vandalised on Saturday. The idols were installed at a vacant site in the layout. As the locals complained, the police visited the spot on Sunday. </p><p>The police have arrested two persons in connection with the incident and Ragigudda is peaceful, now. “People of all communities are peace-loving. An outsider’s hand is being suspected in damaging the idols. We have requested to take action,” said Shantinagar Welfare Association president Jayappa. </p><p>MLAs S N Channabasappa, Dhananjay Sarji, former deputy chief minister K S Eshwarappa, K E Kantesh and BJP district unit president N K Jagdish visited the spot. </p><p>SP warns action</p><p>“Prima facie it appears that the idols that were installed on a platform were removed. We have two into custody and are interrogating. Will initiate stringent action against guilty. The layout is peaceful and anyone trying to disturb the peace will face severe action,” said SP G K Mithun Kumar. </p>
