Woman attacked by wild animal

A woman was reportedly attacked and dragged away by a wild animal on Wednesday at Mudugai village under the Nilawade Gram Panchayat limits in Khanapur taluk.

According to sources, Anjana Hanabar (23), along with family members and labourers, was harvesting paddy at a farm. She went to fetch water from a nearby pond in the vening but did not return. When the labourers went in search her they found blood stains and pieces of cloth strewn around, sources said. Villagers suspect that she might have been attacked by a tiger.

Tiger kills woman
A tiger roaming around Khanapur taluk in Belagavi district is said to have killed a woman by entering her house near Jambooti, reports DHNS from Bengaluru.The victim is said to a resident of Maragai village near Jambooti and wife of Leelavadi gram panchayat president. Forest officials have rushed to the spot.

Villagers opine that it is the same tiger that was recently released into Bhimgad forests after it was captured from Chikkamagaluru forests.
