<p>Mumbai: More than a year in advance, the Maharashtra government has announced the dates for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela to be held between October 2026-September 2027 in the pilgrimage town of Nashik. </p><p>Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the schedule after ameeting of top officials, heads of Shri Ramanand Nirmohi Akhada , Nirmohi Ani Akhara , Shri Digambar Ani Akhara , Nirvani Ani Akhada Shri Panchayati Adasan Akhada , Shri Panchayati New Apathetic Arena , Shri Panchayati Nirmal Akhara , Shri Panchayati Atal Akhara , Shri Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara , Shri Panch Agni Akhara , Along with him, officials of various akharas , Satish Shukla, President of Nashik Purohit Sangh , Manoj Thete, President of the Purohit Sangh at Trimbakeshwar, and others were present.</p>.Amit Shah directs security forces to maintain utmost vigil during Amarnath Yatra. <p>The Simhastha Kumbh Mela is held in Kushvrat teerth in Trimbakeshwar, which houses one of the Jyotirlingas and Ramkund in Nashik city.</p><p>While Trimbakeshwar is the origin of Godavari River, Ramkund is located along the banks of Godavari River. </p><p>"Bids worth Rs 4,000 crore for infrastructure facilities have already floated, while more bids worth Rs 2,000 are in the last leg of the process. The works include cleaning the Godavari, setting up sewage treatment plants, water purification and release of more water among others.
