The decision was taken by the Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, who had cancelled all earlier decisions taken during the tenure of his predecessor Ashok Chavan, official sources here said. Global tenders had been invited to develop Dharavi, but as no satisfactory bid came, the process would be scrapped, Chavan had told the legislative council last month.
Dharavi Redevelopment Project Authority has been created to oversee the redevelopment of the area.
