Wheatgrass is a super potent health food that is known for its therapeutic values. It can be consumed in the form of a juice, wheat grass shot or in a powder form. If you are a regular morning walker, you might find the fresh grass juice being sold outside many parks. Let’s take a look at some of the benefits of this ingredient, which can be easily grown at home:

  • Healing superfood: Wheatgrass is rich in liver enzymes, chlorophyll, antioxidants, phytonutrients, iron, amino acids, vitamins A, C & B complex and many traces of other minerals. An early morning fresh wheatgrass shot aids digestion by strengthening the enteric nervous system, which prevents inflammation and food intolerances.
  • Great detoxifier: The nutrients in wheatgrass eliminate toxins from the body by supporting the liver in its function. This juice acts as a great metabolic booster and cleanses the lymphatic drainage system.
  • Immunity booster: Wheatgrass makes you more resilient to colds, coughs, flu, viral ailments, infections, gastrointestinal tract disorders, acidity, Alzheimer’s and other chronic diseases.
  • Skin cleanser: This superfood helps clear acne, pimples, eczema, psoriasis rashes and also reduces skin sensitivity in many cases. It’s antioxidant properties also slow the process of skin ageing. You can dab a little wheatgrass in cotton or freeze it in ice trays to use in case of sunburn, dry skin, or acne.
  • Stress buster: Chronic stress can lead to a number of illnesses including cancer. Chlorophyll and iron in wheatgrass boost the production of haemoglobin, which increases oxygen flow in the cells equipping them to fight cancer.
