Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt was in Bengaluru on Monday to inaugurate a gym on Pottery Road, Richard Town.

As thousands of fans gathered outside Adapt Fitness to greet their favourite ‘Sanju Baba,’ the atmosphere slowly turned tense, both inside and outside the centre. Waiting for their idol’s arrival, the crowd started getting restive.

About 130 policemen were on duty, but they were no match for the swelling crowds .

By the time the Bollywood star arrived at the venue, the crowd had become uncontrollable; and the place was packed with no space to stand. After a point, the policemen started brandishing their lathis on the crowd and pushed away a few to clear the venue.

Invitees and journalists had a difficult time going out of the venue. As people gathered all around Sanjay Dutt.

Even amidst all the chaos and confusion, Sanjay Dutt remained patient and answered questions. He spoke about his current projects, how he keeps fit, and where he looks for inspiration.

You are currently shooting for ‘Prasthaanam’ alongside Ali Fazal, who recently said that he really admires you as an actor. Are you more of a mentor or a friend to young co-actors?

I am more of a friend to them. It is good to make them feel comfortable and wanted. If they have any questions, I am always ready to help them out.

How important is fitness for you at 59?

There is no age for fitness. Fitness is one of the most important things in my life. If you have a good diet and follow your workout routine every day, I think it is the best thing.

Who do you look up to as your inspiration?

Sylvester Stallone
