Making inquires to finalise his decision, the 24-year-old son of late actress Smita Patil, is in the process of setting up his second home in the state. The actor is in talks with a broker to buy a house in North Goa, and is all set to join the elite club next.

Sources close to the actor said that before shooting for Rohan Sippy’s Dum Maaro Dum, Prateik had trained at the football club in Vasco for three months.

At a time when other Bollywood actors are signing up as fans of Chelsea and Manchester United, Prateik’s plans to join Salgaocar came as a surprise, they said.

“If he ever wrapped up his shoot early, Prateik would head to Salgaocar for football. He plays forward, and sometimes backs up as a goalkeeper. But he is better as a forward player. Besides, he also finds football very destressing after a long day’s shoot,” sources said.

Apart from football, Prateik began liking Goa after shooting two movies — Dum Maro Dum and ‘My Friend Pinto’ — there. So much so, that long after he finished shooting, he has
visited the state a couple of times to just chill out. Sources said, “It was during one of his last trips there that he decided to buy a house. And after checking some places out, he has decided on a river-facing house, away from the city crowd and tourist hangouts.”
