Police said they suspect the nine had been brought here for being sent to another country by human traffickers.They said the Sri Lankan nationals were being questioned but declined to divulge any other detail.
In May last year, police had detained 39 Sri Lankan Tamils in Kollam in Kerala after they were found staying in a lodge without valid travel documents. Investigations had then revealed the Lankan nationals had attempted to go to Australia with the help of a local travel agent.
