Bharatiya Janata Party’s Delhi Legislature Party leader, Dr Harshavardhan, on Saturday said that the BJP group in the Delhi Assembly  will meet President Pranab Mukherjee on February 10 to complain against the ‘unconstitutional’ actions of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led Delhi government, and the foreign funding that the AAP has allegedly received.

Speaking on the sidelines of the BJP’s campaign launch for Bangalore North constituency, Harshavardhan said: “We will convey our concerns about AAP’s unconstitutional behaviour, insults it has heaped on the Constitution of the country and the alleged foreign funding it has received. We will also meet the Union Home Minister to seek a detailed probe into the allegation.”

The MLA from Krishna Nagar constituency in Delhi said, the AAP has failed to respond to the 20 questions sent to it by the Home Minister, seeking an explanation on the allegations of foreign funding. He said that the delay in responding to the Home Ministry questionnaire has raised doubts in people’s minds and it validates a thorough investigation.

He said the AAP has cheated the people of Delhi by joining hands with the corrupt Congress party, and its actions so far have belied the party’s philosophy to come to power.

‘False claims’

Earlier, addressing the gathering, Harshavardhan charged that the AAP’s claims of a huge base in Bangalore was nothing but hogwash.

“I have spoken to at least 500 people across the State over the past few days, none seem to believe the AAP’s claim to support in this State. I believe that the AAP has not made any inroads in Bangalore,” he said.
