Cauvery row: Centre to implement Supreme Court verdict

The Centre on Monday said it will follow the direction of the Supreme Court on Cauvery water sharing dispute between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

“The matter is pending in the Supreme Court and it will come up for hearing in July. What ever the directions the court gives, we will implement it,” Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti told reporters here.

The Centre wants the inter-state water sharing disputes should be resolved amicably and the Ministry of Water Resources is ready to facilitates the talks, she said.
