BJP president J P Nadda on Tuesday made it clear that his party would take the Trinamool Congress (TMC) head-on and said that the people of Bengal have seen enough of Mamata Banerjee’s rule and she has to go.

Addressing another rally later in the day, Nadda said that the days of Mamata Banerjee government are numbered and people would show her the doors in the upcoming Assembly elections.

Kicking off the second phase of BJP’s Parivartan Yatra at Tarapith in West Bengal’s Birbhum district, Nadda said that BJP would work to ensure that change comes to Bengal.

“Enough is enough Mamata Ji. Bengal wants to change. We will work for that change...The change will come to Bengal in May and Mamata Ji will leave. Lotus will bloom in Bengal and BJP will come to power,” said Nadda.

He also said that along with Mamata’s rule, “her culture” would also come to an end in Bengal and the real culture of the state would be restored.

“Change will come. Mamata Ji your culture will go and Bengal’s culture will be established, the culture of Shree Aurobindo, Rabindranath Tagore and Swami Vivekananda, Syamaprasad Mookerjee will be established,” said Nadda.

Launching the third phase of the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra at Lalgarh in Jhargram district, Nadda said that the people of Bengal would not forgive Mamata Banerjee and would teach her a lesson.

“The days of your government are numbered, Mamata Ji. You have done nothing for development in the last 10 years. People will not forgive you. They will teach you a lesson,” said Nadda.

He also said that the TMC supremo and her party should “apologise to the people” for their misrule.

“TMC’s politics of cut money, appeasement and polarisation have resulted in rampant corruption. The people of Bengal will reject them,” said Nadda.

Defending TMC turncoats, Nadda said that leaders like Suvendu Adhikari who served the TMC for a long time joined the BJP because they understood that there was no respect for “Maa, Mati, Manush” (Mother, Soil and the People) in Mamata’s politics.

Nadda further alleged that “Mamata Ji is blocking development” and only pretending to work for the masses.
