Ex-minister booked for bid to frame TRS leader

Last Updated 22 October 2017, 17:43 IST

A case was booked against Congress leader and former minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu for planning to implicate TRS leader Kishan Reddy in a case of stocking ganja.

The Central Zone police also registered a case under relevant sections against Sudarshan Bhargav, former sarpanch of Odedu, for conniving with Babu.

In an audio clip released by Reddy, a resident of Mutharam in Peddapalli district, Bhargav is heard urging Babu to talk to the district superintendent of police to organise a search operation at the TRS leader’s farmhouse.

“I will arrange for the ganja to be stored at Kishan Reddy’s house. You please talk to the police,” Bhargav is heard saying.

To this, Babu said the SP is of no help and he would speak to someone in Hyderabad.

“You tell me at least one day in advance. How are you planning to do this and where will you keep the ganja, in his farmhouse or residence?” Babu said.

Babu, for his part, rejected the allegations, saying he has been falsely implicated in the case by the TRS.
