Officials said that the fire took place due to a blast in the boiler unit of the plant due to leakage in one of the gas pipeline from the storage tank in the plant. Around 20 workers were in that part of plant when the mishap occurred.
Fire tenders including four from ONGC were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control after four hours.
