Mukul Roy-TMC cold war ends

After a gap of some 10 months, shunted Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy returned to the fold as he joined party colleagues in a delegation to present a memorandum to Najma Heptullah, the Union minister of minority affairs on Wednesday.

Roy is also believed to have distanced himself from efforts to launch a new party that was in the works for sometime.

Roy was pushed to the sidelines by party chief Mamata Banerjee earlier this year when he told reporters that he was willing to cooperate with the CBI after being called for questioning in the investigation to the multi-crore Saradha scam. Sources indicated that Roy was working towards floating a new party.
