Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and termed him a "confused" leader.

"The prime minister says that he follows Ram Manohar Lohia, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel and Ambedkar but he heaps praises on those, who oppose these great leaders... It is not clear, which path does the prime minister follow," Akhilesh said.

He also said that Modi had nothing to do with "socialism".

"The people of the country had given him a chance to serve them but he squandered this opportunity," the SP leader said.

"The BJP has failed on all fronts... Now its leaders are hiding behind nationalism," he added.

"BJP is not the Indian Army... We all have great respect for our jawans but the BJP is behaving as if it is the Army," the SP president said.
