Modi to people: Question Oppn for 'insulting forces'

Says "Opposition is the natural habitat of terror apologists and questioners of our armed forces"

In a series of tweets as a response to Congress leaders Sam Pitroda and SP leader Ram Gopal Yadav's statement on Pulwama attack and subsequent Indian reaction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a new attack on non-NDA parties saying the Opposition insults forces.

"Opposition insults our forces time and again. I appeal to my fellow Indians- question Opposition leaders on their statements. Tell them- 130 crore Indians will not forgive or forget the Opposition for their antics. India stands firmly with our forces," Modi tweeted with a hashtag #JantaMaafNahiKaregi.

Modi quoted tweets of news agency ANI, in which Indian Overseas Congress chief Sam Pitroda said the airstrike at Balakot is not a right approach and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Ram Gopal Yadav doubts the Pulwama attack.

"Don’t know much about attacks, it happens all the time, attack happened in Mumbai also,we could have then reacted and just sent our planes but that is not right approach. According to me that’s not how you deal with world. Eight people(26/11 terrorists) come and do something, you don’t jump on entire nation(Pakistan). Naive to assume that just because some people came here&attacked, every citizen of that nation is to be blamed. I don’t believe in that way," said Sam Pitroda to ANI.

In the first tweet, Modi said guide of Congress President (Sam Pitroda) has kick-started Pakistan National Day celebrations on behalf of the grand-old-party. "The most trusted advisor and guide of the Congress President has kick-started the Pakistan National Day celebrations on behalf of the Congress, ironically by demeaning India’s armed forces. Shame!" he said.

He also said that unlike the Congress party, the 'New India' will answer terrorist in their own language with interest. "Loyal courtier of Congress’ royal dynasty admits what the nation already knew- Congress was unwilling to respond to forces of terror. This is a New India - we will answer terrorists in a language they understand and with interest!," tweeted Modi.

Ram Gopal Yadav said, "the soldiers are worry and were killed for votes. There was no checking between Jammu and Srinagar. Soldiers were transported in simple buses. This is a conspiracy. I cannot say now but when a new government comes to power there will be a probe and big shots will be trapped."

As a response to Yadav's statement, Modi said his statement insults the martyrs. "Opposition is the natural habitat of terror apologists and questioners of our armed forces. This reprehensible statement by a senior leader like Ram Gopal Ji insults all those who have given their lives in protecting Kashmir. It humiliates the families of our martyrs," Prime Miniter, who is looking to come back to power after the Lok Sabha elections said on Twitter.

'Indians respond to trivial matters'

Sam Pitroda clarified his statement saying he was baffled to the responses of people. "I don't understand what is the controversy here, I am baffled at the response. Shows how people react to trivial matters in India. It is a totally trivial matter. A citizen is just asking a question," he told ANI.

"I just said as a citizen I am entitled to know what happened. I am not talking on behalf of party, just speaking as a citizen. I have right to know, what is wrong in it?," he was quoted as told to ANI.
