NCP leader Jaydutt Kshirsagar to join Shiv Sena today

His entry into the party might make the Beed district a BJP stronghold

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and former cabinet minister Jaydutt Kshirsagar is all set to join the Shiv Sena on Wednesday.

In the six Assembly constituencies in Beed district, Jaydutt is the only NCP MLA. The rest are from the BJP.

Once he joins, the district will become a BJP stronghold.

Jaydutt has alleged that the party ignored him and gave more importance to his rival Dhananjay Munde, in Beed, when he was in talks with the Sena. Jaydutt had been upset with the NCP leadership.

Last month, he had also met Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray to wish “Uddhav Thackeray ji on the occasion of New Year.”

Not only that, even during the election campaign, the leader had openly supported the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in Beed, and asked people to vote for Pritam Munde, BJP's MP in Beed.

Other NCP leaders, like Pandurang Mahadu Barora, are also expected to join the Sena. Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil has also been offered a cabinet berth by the party.
